Cedar Creek is a suburb split between Logan City and Gold Coast, Queensland. It is situated 41 kilometers, approximately 25 miles south-southeast of Brisbane, Queensland. According to the 2011 census, Cedar Creek recorded a population of 634 that consists 50.6% of female and 49.4% of male.
Jessie Daniels was the first European settler in the suburb who opened a timber mill in 1864. The early industry in the suburb was the production of sugar canes. In 1870, David Veivers opened a dairy enterprise.
In 1871, a Wesleyan church was established in the area. The Cedar Creek Hall was opened in the suburb in 1913.
Educational institutions also commenced in the suburb, the Cedar Creek School and the Cedar Creek School of Arts erected in 1874 and 1913, respectively. The Cedar Creek Vested School was established on the 21st of September under T.F Williams and was subsidized by the Queensland Government on 2 acres of land. Later in 1988, the school changed its name to Cedar Creek State School. But due to low numbers of students, the name was changed to Cedar Creek Provisional School. It became the Cedar Creek State School again in 1895. In 1913, an area of 2 acres was granted to be used for the School of Arts.
In December 1934, the Diamond Jubilee celebrations were commemorated. The celebrations were attended by the Members of the Queensland Legislative Assembly, Reginald King and Thomas Flood Plunkett.
A mobile library which visits the Cedar Creek State School is utilized by the City Council of Gold Coast.
