Helensvale is a locality situated on the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, located 60 kilometers from Brisbane and 18 kilometers from Surfer’s Paradise. According to the 2011 census, Helensvale is home to more than 15,000 individuals. Until 2016, the population moved up to 16,862.
Around 1870, Ernest White and Arthur Robinson opened a sugar plantation in the area. Helena White was Ernest’s youngest sister. The sugar plantation is where the suburb got its name. Helensvale was the first integrated suburb constructed on the hinterland boundary of the Gold Coast. The suburb welcomed its first residents in the early 1980s with a shopping center referred to as the Helensvale Town Centre, a primary and a secondary state school named Helensvale High School, a golf course, parks, and a bowls club.
The City Council of Gold Coast utilizes a public library at Helensvale Plaza that is located on the corner of Lindfield Road and Sir John Overall Drive.
The teams that represent Helensvale when it comes to sporting and recreational activities are the Helensvale Hornets, a local rugby club that plays home games at Robert Dalley Park, and Helensvale Hogs RUFC, a local rugby union club that play home games at Rugby Lane. Swimming pools are also located near the rugby union field.
The suburb is held under the Federal Division; Fadden, an Australian Electoral Division that was established in 1977 and was named after Sir Arthur Fadden.
The neighboring suburbs of the area are Upper Coomera, Coomera, Hope Island, Coombabah, Arundel, Gaven, Pacific Pines, and Oxenford.
