Habitat Creation

[ OVERVIEW ]

Natural tree hollows play an important role in supporting native wildlife, but across South East Queensland they are becoming increasingly rare due to urban development. Tree Essence creates carefully crafted artificial hollows to help restore habitat opportunities on Gold Coast and hinterland properties, while maintaining the health and stability of the tree.

Supporting local biodiversity

Provides shelter and nesting sites for birds, bats, and small mammals.

Native wildlife support

Offsets the decline of naturally forming tree habitats.

Loss of natural hollows

A practical way to support ecosystems in urban and rural areas.

Sustainable conservation

Hollows tailored to the needs of target wildlife.

Species-specific design

Artificial Hollow Creation

Using specialist carving techniques and arborist expertise, we create artificial hollows in suitable trees. Each installation is carefully planned to ensure it supports wildlife habitat needs while maintaining tree health, structure, and long term stability.

Our Approach

1. Assessment

We assess tree species, condition, and suitability.

2. Design & Placement

Hollow position is selected based on safety and habitat value.

3. Precision Carving

Artificial hollows are created using controlled arborist techniques.

4. Habitat Outcome

The result is a safe, functional habitat integrated into the tree.
